What is COIDA?
Compensation for Occupational Injury and Disease Act abbreviated as COID Act is administered by the Department of Employment and Labour’s Compensation Fund, which is funded by levies from employers. Employers are obligated to register and pay these annual assessments to provide compensation for work-related injuries, illnesses, or fatalities, ensuring employees receive income support in the event of a workplace accident or disease.
What is UIF?
The Unemployment Insurance Fund (UIF) is a government program established
to provide financial relief to workers who find themselves temporarily unemployed
or unable to work. It is primarily designed to protect employees in the event of unemployment, illness, maternity, or adoption leave.
